Wm Morrisons Supermarkets

Among the nationwide projects we help construct for Wm Morrisons we recently designed and built an intelligent lighting system at the petrol station at Morrison's store at Illingworth in West Yorkshire. It is a European first.

It is the first petrol station to use LED lighting exclusively - included the canopy, shop, back office, storeroom and car wash. It's virtually maintenance-free and highly energy efficient. Controls on the canopy have a daylight sensor which means that lighting levels are automatically linked to ambient natural light. There is also a camera installed that transmits a signal to dim the lights when there are no customers using the pumps to a level this is still bright enough to show the station is still open for business.
